What actually happens when your alarm goes off
The OPP responds to verified alarms: the station confirms something is wrong, then dispatches. Out here the drive can be 15 to 30 minutes, so anyone who promises “police at your door in minutes” on a bare alarm is selling you something that does not exist in Dufferin County.
So Prince builds systems that verify and deter. A doorbell or indoor camera tied to the panel lets the station see the break-in and dispatch with priority; a loud outdoor siren and a plate camera at the laneway do the rest.

Most DSC, Honeywell, Qolsys and 2GIG panels from Bell, Rogers, ADT or TELUS can be reprogrammed to our station in one visit. Bell left home security in October 2025 and Rogers shut down its 3G panels in September 2025; if you have one of those, call before it stops reporting.

Cameras record to hardware you own. Monitoring means staff at a central station watching your signals 24/7 and calling you and the police. That costs money every month; we just do not lock you in for it.
Can I cancel?
Yes, with 30 days notice. Monitoring is month-to-month. You keep the panel and can self-monitor from the app.
Do I need a permit?
No. The monitoring station registers your premises with the OPP. We handle the paperwork.
Does it work if the internet is down?
Yes. Panels report over cellular first, with internet as backup, so a rural outage or a cut line does not silence the alarm. Battery backup covers power cuts.
