Wired or wireless?

Wired PoE for anything permanent. Wireless cameras need charging, drop off Wi-Fi and get stolen. We run the cable through the attic or soffit and you never see it.

Can I watch on my phone?

Yes. Live view and playback from anywhere, unlimited users, no subscription. We set the app up before we leave.

How long is footage kept?

A 2 TB recorder holds about 30 days of 4 cameras at 4K; 4 TB roughly doubles that. Motion-only recording extends it further.

Is it legal to record my laneway and the road?

Cameras on your own property pointed at your own property are fine, and a plate camera at your laneway entrance is the single most useful shot for the OPP. We keep audio recording where it belongs and tell you the rules.

Can you cover a barn or shop across the yard?

Yes. A point-to-point wireless bridge links the outbuilding to the recorder in the house, up to several hundred metres line-of-sight, with no trenching.
